Really cool to see the history of Serebii, it's the only place I go for Pokemon news! Had no idea it was around for so long, wow.

Thanks for the comment, JT! It was a pleasure to put this interview together with Joe, and share the history of the website with everyone in celebration of its 25th anniversary!

Stumbled upon Serebii some 20th years ago trying to figure out how to make mirage island appear in RSE and it’s been my go to site ever since. My google searches go something like “Nidoking Emerald Moveset Serebii” so they search results take me where I need to go. Joe, if you’re seeing this, thanks for all your dedication throughout the years. This interview was awesome, great questions!

I really appreciate Joe for making a consistently useful and interesting site. I'm glad he's managed to get through the ugliness that is online gamers and continue to find joy in Pokemon.

Duude that's such a cool interview. I owe Joe and Serebii so much; amongst other things my friends and I would not have been able to do the Regi puzzle without Serebii's info on it. It is saddening to hear that Joe was close to shutting the site down during Dexit, but I am not surprised. Anyone who was on the side of "let's wait for more information" at that time was met with online vitriol. It was a bad time, but glad he persisted. It is still the most reliable place for info and data!

Hi Ale, thank you for your comment, and kind words! Serebii means a lot to me too! I have visited the website since around 2001 to get accurate, trustworthy news and updates on Pokémon, and I would hang out in the IRC chatroom in the early to mid 2000s. It's great to see Joe's commitment to his project after almost twenty-five years!
